¡Sigue las aventuras de nuestra niña mimada "Orejitas"!
¡La primera burrita que nació en nuestra asociación!
LA VIDA DE "OREJITAS"
Follow the adventures of the apple of our eye "Little Ears".
The first little donkey to be born in our association!
TALES OF "LITTLE EARS"
The "Happy Donkey" Association, with its president in the lead, is imitating General Hannibal who, in the year 218 A.D., crossed the Alps with his army of elephants to invade Italy.
The adventure is proving to be tough and fun at the same time. Heat, cold, snow, rain ...but the donkeys can handle everything.
Take a look at the photos and videos we will be putting on our web about the journey, which is going to prove that where an elephant can pass...a donkey can pass.
The experience also serves for people to find out what we do in the Association, and we are very happy to have the support of the Huelva Provincial Government too.
So much so that in a weeks’ time will be presenting the project in schools and we will kick off the official start of the idea.
We already have an “intern” from Madrid who has been volunteering in the Association in exchange for food and lodgings, in order to learn how to handle donkeys and commence his journey.
An American company will soon be bringing students to find out about the journey and improve their Spanish while they do part of the route.
Japanese choreographer Rica Kobayasi has already been on television to explain about her up and coming experience in Doñana with the donkeys and the route ….
Some schools have expressed an interest in doing part of the route with their little pilgrims, aided by the donkeys and, on the way, get to know the National Park and the beautiful surrounding area.
We can’t say more at this times……we’re tying up loose ends!
Below we have posted some articles in the press (in Spanish) to give you an idea of the impact this project is already having in the media. Please send us any comments, doubts, suggestions and so on to: CONTACT

Dear friends of The Happy Donkey…a few new donkeys have joined our happy home.
We know money is tight, but they need us.
Please help us by sponsoring a donkey so that we can continue to care for our humble long-eared friends. We can do a lot with even just a little.
Here you have photos of our donkeys; we’ve also included Tolio the pony, as he also lives with us and is one of the family.
Thank you for your support!
EXPOJOVEN is a leisure and sport exhibition which attracts massive numbers (100,000 visitors) and is held in the city of Seville.
For three days in January our little donkeys were the delight of many children.
The donkeys behaved beautifully. We chose FLAVIA and AIHNOA, two donkeys of the ENCARTACIONES breed native to the Basque Country, which were brought to us by our friend Borja from the valleys near Bilbao.
Our adorable donkeys stood patiently for thousands of photos and were stroked and hugged, but not mounted or ridden.
In this way, “The Happy Donkey” Association has taken a giant step forward in the promotion of its activities in Andalusia.
We are especially grateful to the organizers of the event, Javier and Eva, and also our wonderful volunteers Isabel and Santi.
Also, something curious happened to us: in a moment of distraction our mischievous donkey Aihnoa escaped from the pen….we didn’t know what to do and just then ….THE LEGION APPEARED!
Sergeant Murcia from this military corps, which was participating in the Expo, without a second’s hesitation quickly caught hold of the donkey and brought her back safely.
Legionnaire Lady Dolores also used her break time to come by and lend a hand. Thank goodness they were there!
To show how grateful they were, our donkeys went along to visit the military stands and posed with their new friends.
It’s clear to us that the Legionnaires are ready for everything and anyone who needs them. Thanks again to Sgt Murcia and the Spanish Legion.
See you next year!

The Galactic-Bank has confiscated the speeder bike of the Imperial Stormtrooper in the photo, the assault vehicles have no fuel, the starfighters have defaulted on their mortgage and even the laser swords have been switched off because there are no more batteries.
Star Wars cannot go on like this. Thank goodness they have found support and help from an environmental association, called “The Happy Donkey”, which carries out sustainable development activities in several parts of the world.
The organisation has its base in a town in the south of Spain called Hinojos.
They have lent their adorable animals so that the population of the Empire can at least still move around. That way everyone is happy: Imperial Stormtroopers, Rebels, Yoda, the Jedi….
Naturally this all forms part of a promotional activity and the idea is part of a friendly joke about the rising excitement of millions of followers of the science fiction saga as the arrival of a new episode promises to be very intriguing.
The new film has recuperated the veteran Harrison Ford (Han Solo) and Princess Leia (Carrie Fisher) in an attempt to arouse the same excitement of 30 years ago with the debut of of episode IV - A NEW HOPE.
“The Happy Donkey Association” donkeys have been chosen for one of these promotional activities by a group of Star Wars followers.
The donkey appearing in the promotion is called “Platero” and before filming he was given a full check up by his vet and issued with documents certifying his good state of health. This animal lives in the installations the Association possesses in the beautiful area surrounding Doñana National Park, a natural paradise in the south of Spain, and home to the Iberian Lynx – the most endangered feline in the world.
The video was made by production company TACHIPRODUCCIONES (http://tachiproducciones.wordpress.com/), and promises to become a viral phenomenon. It has already begun its conquest of social networks on Internet.
The Galaxy is filled with the sound of braying.
